Real-home ideas for cozier living

About CasaBear

CasaBear started with a simple observation: most home and garden advice reads like it was written for a showroom, not a real home. But nobody lives in a showroom. We live in rentals with one sad ceiling light, kitchens with two feet of counter, balconies that double as gardens, and living rooms that host movie night, homework, and the occasional muddy dog.

So CasaBear writes the other way around. Every guide starts from a real household moment — the entryway pile-up by the front door, the spice cabinet avalanche, the rug that slides every time someone crosses the room — and then works out which everyday products and setups genuinely help, which are nice to have, and which you can skip.

Who writes CasaBear

CasaBear is edited by Elena Marsh, a home enthusiast who has furnished four apartments and one small house on real-world budgets, killed more houseplants than she will admit before learning better, and strong opinions about entryway storage. Our small team researches every guide the same way: manufacturer specifications first, then verified owner reviews and community feedback, then a hard look at whether the product fits real rooms, real routines, and real budgets.

How we choose products

What we do not do

We do not publish scores or star ratings we cannot back up, we do not invent hands-on testing we have not done, and we do not repeat performance claims a manufacturer has not substantiated. Measurements we quote come from manufacturer listings, and we say so when a figure is a published spec rather than our own test.
